Recoil

The Viper returns and he wants no parts of Riddle. The tag Champs certainly want a piece of the bromine though. Styles makes fun of the two in the ring. Both Orton and Riddle look to RKO Omos but no way he is catching that right now.

Corbin vs McIntyre

Pathetic is beyond what Corbin is. Corbin is using the brand to brand invitational to work for Jinder Mahal, hoping to make some money for a victory. The biggest takeaway is that the brand to brand invitational was finally explained. Drew wins clean with some beautiful work. Drew grabbing the mic during the match to make fun of Corbin is a great element that added to everything going in.

Karrion Kross[c] vs Jeff Hardy

This is one rematch that I don’t mind. We need a resolution to the first match. Kross taps out Hardy after one of the best matches Kross has been in. The post match ass whooping has me hoping Jeff Hardy goes to NXT to face Kross for the NXT Championship.

Alexa Bliss vs Doudrop

A PPV match that would have made some money if booked ahead of time and built up to a point. Alexa wins with a distraction and she is still very over with the crowd despite what the internet says. Doudrop better be champion by this time next year, she is too good to do this for too long. She made Alexa look good which isn’t hard but she made it look effortless. Eva is just kind of there, I need something more from her, she should at least be managing someone else as well.

Sheamus[c] vs Ricochet

Love the new entrance for Sheamus, I’m a sucker for entrances.. Ricochet does what he does in a match that I wanted to see so much more of, as usual. Sheamus wins with his steel face mask when Ricochet accidentally hits it while coming from the top rope. Or maybe Sheamus headbutt him, I’m not sure which.

Morrison vs Damian Priest

Great back and forth action that made Morrison look very credible, the most serious he has looked in a long time. Priest wins despite the interference from the Miz. After the match the Miz gets up and runs all the way back to Cleveland. Priest finally challenges Sheamus at Summerslam

TBar vs Ali

Why are TBar and Mace getting so much tv time?

Ali loses again, jobbing out the small guys to two guys that haven’t done anything, I’d counter productive in my opinion. I like the back and forth but the end game can’t just be betrayal, there has to be elevation.

Rhea Ripley vs Nikki A.S.H[c]

No real reason for this match other than to keep Charlotte the focal point of it all. Charlotte gets to have all of the fun. But one thing Charlotte does is attack while looking good while doing it. Charlotte had a very long segment backstage after her attack so that she could say what she wanted to without the crowd teasing her; that’s pretty cheap.

Orton vs Styles[c]

This match lived up to its potential. The RKO out of nowhere was great, got a giant pop from the crowd as well. Randy Orton won which I was surprised to see but even more surprising was the RKO he gave Matt Riddle during the celebration after the match. This story has just begun, its going even greater than we thought it would.

Honorable mentions

  1. 24/7 title shenanigans

  2. MVP and Lashley cut promos, Lashley says Gdberg isn’t next, he’s done.

  3. Elias is going through a change, Burns his guitar in a vignette.

Final take

A good week for Raw; not much to complain about. There are more people in the division than Charlotte so put some other people on television, that’s something that can make the show better. Overall, it was a very good show from start to finish with no dry periods.
