It’s a celebration, yes it is
Raw starts with a recap, sick of the recaps but I understand why they have to happen at the top of the show. The He Man and Skeletor gear is dope, New Day always has something going for them to keep the fans interested. Big E has a big introduction, thanking all those involved in his success.
The Bloodline shows up for their 6 man tag match, interrupting E’s celebration. Roman and Big E Square off and have their moment; Survivor Series is going to be huge if E goes over. Glad this wasn’t saved for the main event, there is more story to be told. Out of nowhere Bobby Lashley comes sprinting down the ramp, attacking both teams, even spears Reigns! Lashley looked very strong, he cleaned house and looked like an absolute monster. “Vengeance, thy name is Lashley ” great line from Smith on commentary.
Dou-drop this feud already
Eva Marie vs Doudrop is useless, it doesn’t get Eva any more heat and just when you thought it couldn’t get worse they allude to body shaming Piper.
Styles vs Orton[c]
Good television that pumps the crowd up is what this match was all about; two fan-favorites doing battle. Orton wins but I am wondering about those tag titles, will New Day win just so we can see them face the Usos once more?
I’m just as shocked as you are
Baszler vs Jax
The natch was too quick, it could have been a lot longer and a lot better but it wasn’t bad at all. In fact, it was one of Nia Jax’s better matches. Shayna put her ass to sleep though, really didn’t see that coming. And just like that, Baszler is a badass and a somebody again. After all of the losses she gets her biggest win easily and a beatdown on top of it.
New in town
Mansoor & Ali vs Carillo & Garza
So Carillo is now teaming with his cousin and they actually explained why they are doing so, very creative move here. So glad Carillo has a personality now, he’s heel and this suits him. Good win for the other bloodline. Ali and Mansoor should have a very long feud with these guys with the belts involved.
Tag titles on the on the line
Rhea showing her emotion the way she does is big, audiences really connect with that. Great segment, they dedicated their match to the kids, this company does some really good things and they are ignored by toxic fans.
The match was good but way too short; any other night this would have been the main event. Natalya should be a much bigger deal, she looks great and has all the tools. I don’t know why WWE haven’t brought in her sister to just be there. Natalya should be a major player based on her looks alone, add in everything else and you have a real star. Saw that title change coming, should have saved it for the main event though, especially after the support Rhea got.
Initially my thought was that this is the match before the real match at Extreme Rules. WWE is good for doing that bullshit with title matches. Happy to see new Champs because Natalya and Tamina were great but they were going nowhere.
Playing dirty on girls night
Charlotte and Alexa Bliss rip into each other and its the best Charlotte has ever been, she crushed Bliss. Everything said was true and it felt real, very intense moment for two women who have put the division on their backs. “The best supposed to blast at each other when they at the top” or whatever Nas said.
3 the Hard(y) way
Sheamus vs Hardy
Sheamus has been doing some excellent work these past 2 years. His character change has been for the best, anyone involved with him is flourishing. Hardy wins A slugfest, now the US title picture has a 3rd man. A brawl breaks out,
Priest and Sheamus had a good fight, like an actual great shoot fight, everything looked good.
Lashley vs Big E[c] vs Reigns[c]
This match took me BACK, this was attitude era good. Dominant Champs, brutal history and steel chairs. Reigns won but I bet Balor showed up after they went off of television. This is a must watch match, television match of the year candidate.
This. Was. Awesome.
Honorable mentions
Wwe promotes miz on dancing with the Stars, that’s dope they really do support him
Drake Maverick is back R Truth Tozawa, Gulak. The crowd loved everything except that even though it was good
Final take
Great main event with a strong undercard. Raw is on a Roll, the draft is only going to build it up more. Title changes and Champs colliding with thirsty challengers make for an interesting program. Let’s see what they do next week though, WWE has a tendency to self sabotage so let’s wait and see if this successful booking continues.
