Big rematch
Everything was going fine, the Hurt Business was back in business, Bobby had it in the bag but the New Day saved the day for Big E. Adam Pearce wasn’t for the bullshit and makes it a steel cage match and the main event of the show.
New Blood(line)
Garza vs Ivar
Cartoon Raiders vs guys that should have gone further than this by now, I’m not looking forward to that. Its a good thing that it was just a singles match. This is a good spot for both Garza and Humberto but the Viking Raiders are just a joke. The Raiders are over, they are great in the ring but the gimmick is just too corny for everyone to take them as seriously as they should be taken.
Corey Graves was on fire, he had jokes on top of jokes.
Bearcat
Tozawa demands a match and Bearcat answers the call. I like it so far. I like that Bearcat is a nickname and said like it; they could have stopped calling him Keith Lee. That actually doesn’t happen often enough in wrestling. A quick squash with new gear was a nice way to start. The most important thing is that he has facial hair; I hope he never cuts it again.
A fighting fella
Sheamus vs Priest[c]
There’s not much more I can say about Sheamus. He has done some truly great work for years now, the pandemic era is where he shined and he continues to really put guys over with physical matches you can only find everywhere. Priest wins a banger but who’s next for the Archer of Infamy?
Kross faded
Kross vs Ryker
The harbinger of sorrow, nice title for Kross, Corey Graves may be on to something. The crowd hates Kross, same as they hated Corbin so that could be great if Kross can harness that energy. People hate Ryker and Kross, I don’t understand this booking because I don’t know what it was supposed to accomplish besides cause conflict within the fans themselves. Well, that horrible choke doesn’t help Kross’s case at all. As an MMA guy, the choke still actually works but on TV it looked like shit because it’s pro wrestling. Jimmy Smith actually cleaned it up very well on commentary, good thing he is there.
Again?!
Styles vs Riddle[c]
Does Vince McMahon have dementia or does he just know what slaps and what doesn’t? I’m a little tired of the shtick from Riddle, its too much sometimes, kinda like the New Day; does any of that matter? No; that was a BANGER! I want to see it one more time actually.
Drop this shit
Doudrop vs Charlotte[c]
I mean I wanted a title match soon but Doudrop isn’t to be taken seriously with this gimmick. Eva Marie cost her the match as we thought. Doudrop was beating Charlotte down though, she pretty much squashed Charlotte; she looks super strong even in this lost.
Eva stays to talk shit, Shayna Baszler obliges her; another elbow is claimed.
Inside a Steel Cage
Before they could even get in the cage, Lashley beatdown Big E all around the ring. A massive main event with 2 juggernauts throwing haymakers. The New Day and the Hurt Business got involved early but Big E and Bobby were the focus of the show and for good reason. Big E hits a Big Ending from the top rope and retains his title. As the cage lifts, Drew McIntyre music hits, setting up the next title defended for the New Day member.
Honorable mentions
Reggie survives again.
Kross promo gets huge boos.
Mansoor, Ali & Jeff Hardy vs Veer Shanky and Jinder.
Goldberg vows revenge on Bobby Lashley, it’ll most likely happen at Crown Jewel.
Final take
Those people wanting more from Raw will never be happy. Those that are enjoying Raw are definitely giving props where props are due. I’m enjoying the show, the draft is going to make or break this show for the foreseeable future.
