Qualifying match
Corbin comes out with no music and its pretty pathetic. His hairline committing treason as Pat McAfee put it was quite a story on its own. Corbin attacks before the bell but Nakamura wins clean. Nakamura and Boogs are so great, this is what you do without a title, these guys are a great story. McAfee on the couch with Big E was gold, we need so much more of this, I can’t wait to see what Raw does to catch up.
Debut
Natalya[c] & Tamina[c] vs Shotzi & Tegan Nox
So Tegan And Shotzi debut on SmackDown out of nowhere. Tegan was introduced as just Nox and Shotzi is just Shotzi. I’m confused what Tegan is doing here, she has unfinished business NXT. Shotzi is still green but maybe she will tighten it up on the main roster with veterans like Bayley and Natalya. As for now, Shotzi and tMtegan looked pretty damn good. They scored a clean victory over the tag champs. I’m intrigued, in a good way.
Tamina isn’t appreciated enough, she’s not as good as her tag partner but she serves a purpose. I can see Tamina putting over newer talent for a few more years, maybe even getting another shot at a title herself.
Bad news Bayley
I like that Bayley had a video message, classic heel move; put her on commentary!
Sonya Deville picks a new opponent for Bianca Belair. Bianca later had words for Bayley and Carmella. Deville makes the decision to take the match off of the card and put it on the SmackDown after Money in the Bank against Carmella when fans will be in the building. A big move by management, with Liv Morgan taking Carmella’s spot at Money in the Bank. Great segment with multiple women involved, everything that the multi women segments with Charlotte never have been.
Call out
Jimmy Uso confronted Roman at the top of the show and Jey came out talking about the tag team title picture. The family is back together and making moves.
Edge calls out the chief, Roman responds and wants to handle it on his own but that proves to be foolish as Rey and Dominick attack from behind with chairs, taking out the Usos. Roman lets jey gets choked out while he watches from the ramp, then Edge moves on to Jimmy. I smell a six man tag worthy of our attention!
Honorable mentions
Seth beats Cesaro and Edge confronts Seth backstage.
Final take
The show flows so well when the central story is a great champion. The midcard is absolutely phenomenal right now. I can’t get enough of everything on the show.
