Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje

A truly masterful performance from Justin Gaethje secures the gold and possibly his legacy. No one believed that Ferguson could be beaten and certainly no one believed Ferguson could be beaten up. Gaethje is a legend now, he stopped a man on a streak unlike no other, a man believed to be the only one that could be a match for Khabib Nurmagomedov, what happens next will be even more historic. And your new interim lightweight champion is Justin Gaethje.

Winner: Gaethje via TKO

Henry Cejudo (c) vs. Dominick Cruz

Earlier in the fight, I saw Cejudo throw a knee but pull back on it, I now see why he threw it in the first place. Cejudo trained well and caught Cruz, it’s that simple. Cruz has a legitimate complaint but in the end you just can’t get caught like that or the fight will no longer be in your hands.

Winner: Cejudo via TKO

Francis Ngannou vs. Jair Rozenstruik

I want my money back. Wild swings take out Rozenstruik who had the defensive skill of a cat on a plank. All that confidence does not equate to skill, Rozenstruik thought he had it all figured out until he got hit in his face, what a shame.

Winner: Ngannou via KO

Calvin Kattar vs. Jeremy Stephens

It’s unfortunate, Stephens got caught and now his position as gatekeeper is in serious jeopardy and I would argue so is his career.

Winner: Kattar via KO

Greg Hardy vs. Yorgan De Castro

Not every heavyweight fight can be interesting and this one certainly wasn’t. Hardy finally had a decent challenge and now maybe he can face Rozenstruik because his stock just plummeted. Hardy has had some early success but sooner or later fighters will figure him out and he’ll become a gatekeeper.

Winner: Hardy via unanimous decision

Anthony Pettis vs. Donald Cerrone

The fight didn’t start until the last 2 minutes, it’s a shame that this fight didn’t live up to any of the hype. I want both guys to retire, Bellaire can’t even resurrect their careers.

Winner: Pettis via unanimous decision

Vicente Luque vs. Niko Price

Luque and dish out the punishment as well as take it, Price tore his leg up. The problem was that Price took too much damage and the shot he caught to the eye closed it, resulting in a stoppage. This was fight of the night until the main event.

Winner: Luque via TKO

Fabricio Werdum vs. Aleksei Oleinik

Oleinik is a good fighter but I don’t see him moving up the ranks, I see him as another gatekeeper, he’ll keep the Greg Hardys out of title contention.

Winner: Oleinik via split decision

Carla Esparza vs. Michelle Waterson

Boring fight, not enough of anything in the fight, passion, skill, killer instinct; nothing.

Can’t believe Waterson thought she won.

Winner: Esparza via split decision

Bryce Mitchell vs. Charles Rosa

Winner: Mitchell via unanimous decision

Ryan Spann vs. Sam Alvey

Winner: Spann via split decision

Final take

We didn’t know that the night would be as legendary as it was but we were all pleasantly surprised. The UFC needs cards like this all of the time, not just every few years. Keep the crowds out, hearing all of those crazy hard shots made the fights more intense. No more fans for any sports if it’s up to me. All jokes aside, sports are fine without a live audience.
